Israeli Society and the Holocaust with Rachel Korazim
Since the end of WW2, world Jewry has grappled with the meaning of the Holocaust. Israel society is dealing with this question in its collective memory, education system, political and social life. This session will explore the development of the Holocaust narrative in Israel from the early days, still under British Mandate all the way to recent years. We will look at the Yad Vashem museum for insights into the history and possible future of Holocaust commemoration in Israel.

Rachel Korazim is a freelance Jewish education consultant in curriculum development for Israel and Holocaust education. She engages audiences worldwide through innovative presentations built around the stories, poems and songs of Israel’s best writers. Her thought-provoking talks open a window onto Israeli society, inviting listeners to engage with the country and its history in new ways.
